Installation on Galaxy S7 from Linux (Ubuntu)

Well I am not so sure. is there a way I can figure it out before trying to sideload ?
Thanks !
Charles

Are we talking about TWRP’s “ADB Sideload” or Samsungs’s “Android system recovery” (Stock Reocvery Android 8.0.0) “Sideload via ADB” /// “apply update from ADB”?

Can you set a screenshot of “your sideload” here?

I think it’s samsung’s. I’ll try to give a screenshot asap

No, I don’t think so… Just try to sideload it!

But wait, is your phone even supported by /e/? I think you will brick the SM-G930U!
I mean, I don’t see it on the list from /e/…

Yes : https://doc.e.foundation/devices/herolte/.
Question : is it possible anyway ?

Unfortunately, I don’t think so. The processors are different, yours is a Snapdragon and /e/ is built for the exynos…

Are we talking about the processor ?

Yes. Unfortunately the processor happens to matter a lot…

Hi,

sorry to be so late… I was going through the same thing last year.
At that time there was no way to get a custom rom onto a 930U, you need a 930F (and then there are just no issues).
I almost bricked the one 930U… ;(

Good luck!,
