That’s a good question. If we are told: that’s a future development add-on but no ETA, that means we will a have a phone with a useless yellow button.
The Warranty part of the page could use an update of the table at “Duration of your Extended Warranty”, I guess? … https://murena.com/shop/smartphones/brand-new/murena-fairphone-6/#warranty
Edit: Seems done.
And if they do build or port the feature from Fairphone OS, I hope it’s possible to have it for other Fairphones or other devices, too.
Activating it through software instead of a stylish slider, of course, but apart from that I miss a focus mode like that on /e/ at the present time.
But since the feature is missing on the pages of Murena and the Fairphone page for the FP6 /e/OS Edition, I’m a bit worried it will indeed not be present at launch.
Progress.
After the launch of the Fairphone 3 we waited months until the first viable Custom ROM even arrived (which was /e/OS back then).
Now after Fairphone launches we discuss on launch day which original feature might be or might not be present in the already announced /e/OS.
Q: Is Fairphone Moments available on The Fairphone (Gen. 6) with Murena eOS?
Fairphone Moments is not available on devices running Murena eOS, only on Android for Fairphone. On devices running Murena eOS the physical switch will enable & disable your camera and microphone access to easily safeguard your privacy when needed. We are working with the team at Murena to see if we can expand the options assigned to the switch as you see on your The Fairphone (Gen. 6) running Android.

Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Hi.Great news. Might have missed something, but if fp6 is available with eos, why can’t we get access to the ROM? Any estimated delay to get it availablefor custom use?
You may have to wait until e-3.1- expected mid juillet

Wow it even appears in the Americas Murena Store, the FP5 never made it there. I would consider buying one, but it’s 899 USD , that’s a bit too rich for my blood especially considering it’s a mid-range phone with a relatively low IP rating. I mean it could be worth it for the repair-ability and better eco footprint, but I could buy two mid-range phones from other makers at that price.
“THE MURENA FAIRPHONE (GEN. 6) WILL BE SHIPPED IN AUGUST !”
Perhaps they don’t want to have too many preorders .
@Manoj … is there some rationale behind the US price, or is it a typo, or a placeholder for August when the real price will be set?
It would be inclusive of the taxes and not a typo. Have requested the team to add more details along with price tag.
Hmmm … as 649 EUR are about 760 USD currently, there might actually be some point to this, I didn’t look up the conversion rate beforehand. Thought it would be closer to parity, my fault, and then the phones still need to get to the US and get supported.
Considering the price includes taxes and the EU has a VAT around 20%, they should be selling the phone for 649 USD as well. That would be more reasonable. I would consider paying an extra $150 for the repair-ability. You can get a mid-range phone from Asian makers $300-400, but I’m leaning toward a Pixel “a” model which sells new for $499 so that’s my baseline.
