I hoping someone can save me time and steer me in a good direction. I am looking for a mid-sized tablet that I can put /e/ on and is supported/reliable. Something in the size range of 8" x 6" like the old Samsung Galaxy S2 which is now listed as Legacy by /e/. BTW, I am in the USA. Thanks

Once eOS supports Android 13 you can go for this 8" tablet which is newly supported for LOS 20

Is there a projected date?
Does this infer there are currently no good tablets support by eOS in this size range?

I managed to build /e/OS v1.8-q for
[Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 (2014 WIFI)] [SM-T900]
[UNOFFICIAL e-1.8-1] [(v2awifi) 32G]
It is very similar to SM-P900 v1awifi mentioned above.
exynos5420 on github.com had a small bug in the v2awifi branch preventing the build.

The LG X 8.0 is no longer supported. I have one and tried. The TWRP for it is no longer available.

I have just acquired an old Lenovo Tab 2 A10-30 tablet and I was wondering whether there’s a chance that I can install /e/ OS on it?
I have found an installation guide for Lineage OS 14.1 but nothing related to /e/ OS.

LineageOS 14.1 corresponds to /e/OS Nougat. The latest /e/OS Nougat build was v0.23-nougat, from sometime last year, and /e/ no longer officially make or support Nougat, Oreo and Pie builds. /e/OS itself is currently on version v1.9, so the Nougat builds are very out of date and may well not work properly.

It might be possible to make a v0.23-nougat build for this device, but I’m not sure it would be worth the effort - sorry.

Anyone still looking for a tablet, grab an 8" Sony Z3 Compact Tablet SGP611 (WiFi only) or SGP621 (sim).

@Petefoth made an /e/OS 1.13 Version for this tab based on evil_god’s work @XDA (he ported LOS 18).

This tab is available for small money in the internet and it works really good, depending of what you expect for a 2014 (!) released tab with QualComm 801 processor. For reading and browsing and shopping it works fantastic.

Added the Google Pixel Tablet (tangorpro). This looks like it’s now the newest tablet officially supported by LineageOS. It’s an unofficial /e/ build right now (thanks very much to @ronnz98), but hopefully it becomes official /e/ soon.

[EDIT] No microsd slot, so no, I don’t care if it becomes official /e/. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m interested in the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, but since this post was first made, the device has had two refreshed models (2022 and 2024).

Does anybody know if these models are also supported? Or would I need to find the 2020 model in order to get an official build?

I do notice that the newer models have switched from an Exynos chipset to a Snapdragon. Not sure if this would make a difference. I’m not super familiar with this stuff, so apologies if I am missing out on some information that would be helpful for answering my question!

UPDATE: I’m also seeing that the newer models have totally different model numbers too…
2020: SM-P610, 2022: SM-P613, 2024: SM-P620
Seems likely that they would need different builds, but I’d be only too happy to be told otherwise!

Only the S6 Lite from 2020 is officially supported. There are unofficial builds for the 2022 model too, but do not know how well they are working. I still would favour the S5e Tab over the S6 lite tough
