Network Sign in Issues

I recently flashed e/OS onto my new Fairphone 6 (albeit with some problems but it ended up working). Upon trying to use the device at work, I couldn’t connect to the network. The network is a public network with a sign in page for which I have a login, however upon being prompted by my phone to sign into the network, the login page doesn’t load.

I have tried the following:

  • Resetting wifi settings
  • Forgetting the network
  • Rebooting the device
  • Disabling the tracker blocker in advanced privacy (and uBlock Origin in my browser)

I’m not sure what else to do in order to connect tothe network.

  • make sure to use the dns of that network and not a private dns
  • if it doesn’t do a catch-all redirect until signed in, try google.com in a browser.
  • if everything fails, look at your assigned ipv4 through “about phone”, guess the gateway ip (uppermost .1 usually), request that ip in a browser url http://ipgoeshere:80/
