I really don’t understand what you are claiming responsibility now for as you’re still claiming your interpretation wasn’t incorrect even after I explained what I actually meant.
The only thing I do take responsibility for is perhaps not being sufficiently clear in the original messages that it was not a demand. I don’t take responsibility for demanding something because, as I explained, it wasn’t a demand.

Also, you’re talking about laissez-faire in the moderation leading to a toxic community but should I recall that Claudio got his comment flagged and hidden only for expressing his opinion in a respecting manner? This is already a good example of a toxic community.

This discussion is doing nothing to promote /e/ and so in my opinion has no relevance to the /e/ community forums. We all have our personal views and at times its best to keep them close to our chest.

I don’t think there will a petition to close anything, because as often pointed out throughout the thread there has been no petition to close anything. There has only been the request to behave nicely and think about the words before posting.

But unfortunately I have to say that it’s only my fault because I thought I was reasoning with mentally elastic people, and therefore gave the context the right importance…
And instead I was TOTALLY wrong, because evidently for these people there are only two shades of color, or white or black, and instead sometimes in life, and therefore also in language (which is an expression of thought) things are much more complicated than that and therefore words can take on totally different connotations…
And it is always my fault that I wanted to involve this community in some of my personal life experiences, such as my love for hip-hop culture and consequently for all the culture of the black people, and this only for the sake of reasoning…
(ahh oops, and then excuse me so much if I shocked you with the story (by the way without vulgar language) of my girlfriend, I thought I was talking to grown up people, not babies or bigots…)
But obviously not all people like to drive the engines of reasoning, and they barricade themselves behind a banal and false respectability,
as that of feeling offended by a term coined by the alternative nerd community, of which they then take pride in being part, but of course this is not so!!!

And here we go again… Why on earth has my comment been hidden? This has really become ridiculous. We are actually dealing with children minds who have nothing better to do than flag comments without valid reasons only because they disagree with the expressed message and can’t stand it to be expressed since they haven’t the emotional intelligence to deal with contrary opinions.

Anyway thank you for demonstrating our point. This whole fuss about “goolag” is all about virtue signaling and has nothing to do with preventing a “toxic community” to take place. Since you guys flag our comments to cheaply silence our contrary opinions, you are the actors who actually make this community toxic.
Sadly this is symptomatic of today’s society. I wish we could all take a moment to think about the implications of such behaviour. How can we possibly evolve as a society when the people deciding of political correctness don’t take responsability for what they express, when they want to decide how other people should be allowed to talk and the words they are allowed to use, and deliberately silence contrary opinions.
This is the society we currently live in, to say the least the community we take part in, here at e.foundation.

@dalas.revo On the one hand I haven’t used the word yet, even though I find Google and its Silicon Valley community/ideology abominable (I’ve seen the series, I know all about it 
). Guess I just didn’t want to seem immature through the text I write.
On the other hand I am strictly against censorship (if there ever was an initiative to censor the word here) and even “changing your language for political purposes” (in this case correctness). If you live in Germany these years you know what I’m talking about.
So for me that means I’m thankful that you’ve shared your feelings (usually a good thing in my experience). But I want to be the one who decides whether to accommodate you and others who feel this way and not be or feel forced to.
On another note, I want to ask everyone to remain civil here and not tear each other to pieces or delete your accounts or whatever over such an issue. That would be most immature and hurt us all in the long run. Thank you!
