Pre-installed Google Apps on a De-Googled System? My Frustrations with /e/OS Latest Updates

Only v3.0?
Why was v2.9 simply skipped? I am currently using it, and Google Assistant is also installed on it. Either you didn’t read carefully, or you are not interested in the issues of previous versions?

You refer to the table?

Google-contamination

It looks factual to me. I believe e-3.0 builds were withdrawn. I think you said it affected a14 not AOSP 13 (T). You could add another column if you think there is more relevant information to add like e-OS version but telling the forum members here does not get you very far, better to Report an issue.

And, yes, @Fox I am / was referring to Issues as “reported at the Gitlab”, as opposed to here in the forum where the principle audience is other users. I think the Feedback thread where comments are specific and clear will be absorbed by lead devs, contents of other threads may filter back to devs but it is not at all the best way to achieve (ongoing) action.

one should reopen

it wasn’t understood then where the files come from, but I left a comment explaining.

The hotword enrollment apks were carried for many releases, see prop.f txt git file history. It’s in Lineages principle to port as much functionality as possible.

It’s the Murena (Google-) Pixel Tablet, which came preinstalled with e/OS / A14

I made changes to the main post about problematic versions a long time ago.

I filled the gitlab issue on this with more details. I don’t think this package has a privacy angle, it’s I think binary data of audio models of the word “OK Google” in a few common languages, put in a shared memory with the DSP to discern the hotword from the usual babble. Going by the imported classes I still don’t think it can initiate any network related actions, just intents for other packages (that can do networking, but you don’t have installed that listen for the intent etc).

The effort for murena is creating more mirrored lineageos repos and build from there to remove 2-4 lines… for what is imo a snowflake issue (relative to the outrage received). I’m not sure I’d go to the length of it, but fair enough.
