Thank you, indeed it took me time to realize that incoming calls were not working… 
Just tried, receiving and making calls work fine. I received a call with multimedia in sleep, multimedia wakes up and takes the call.
I’ll make more extensive testing when I’ll have time, including our second car.

So it seems that BT voice calls work on “newer” car’s generation.
I have got the exact same issue as you @stanwood. On FP6 with 3.1.3, issue on 2011 Volvo and 2021 Fiat Doblo.
No issue on my previous android phones

So, do you think you could comment the above issue ticket in Gitlab, indicating your car model and approx. release date year. This would help developers to further investigate and eventually find a fix…

I am using a hearing aid from Phonak (Sonova) via bluetooth FP6 eos, but the problem is that the phone doesn’t ring; I miss every call… Vibration and flash works when a call comes in, but that’s not good enough.
Will not be able to use the brand new FP6 until this bug has been fixed. Pretty low feeling.
My son, a training data scientist working as programmer in a world top 3 data open source startup, ie in the know, who helped me set up the google free eos on FP6, tells me that somebody out there is working on a fix, but I haven’t found that thread yet.
Any hints before I give up this battle for more selfsouvereignity?

I can’t seem to be able to register on efoundation gitlab, it refuses my email address, although I tested it with differents providers… It’s quite annoying
Maybe @Manoj could do something to enable you to create a e-Gitlab account using your email address?
Well, nope, I don’t think there’s anyhow you can tweak your system to make this work.
We have to wait until the developers release a fix.
The best thing you can do is to comment the Gitlab issue adding more details on the material you use…
Currently the issue is opened and labelled. But there’s still no assignee, no milestone, nor iteration. But it might be possible that developers are already working on this matter in another way (not through this Gitlab ticket… no idea).

I tested it again. In the VW Touran 2023, everything really works fine. Making + receiving calls, even with music on through the phone. Just works.
Also made a quick test in a Renault Clio 2021, also works. Making + receiving calls.
It’s interesting. So it seems that latest versions of car units (more recent Bluetooth version?) do work better than older ones.
A lot of ongoing development is still running on FP6, so we will continue to track this.
Don’t hesitate to tell me if there is any technical information I can provide which would help.

Same problem. Fairphone 6 with /e/OS 3.1.4-a15.
I’ve got a BMW 318d from 2013. Most of the time I do not hear anything at all when I accept a call, sometimes it’s only a robotic/metallic voice that you cannot understand.
Music playback via Bluetooth works fine.
Funnily, music doesn’t work on the Renault Clio 2021. I didn’t try it up to now. As said above, calls work just fine, in and out.
Indeed, I guess that you can hear the sound very faintly through the telephone speaker.
Let’s see if the upcoming update V 3.2 will eventually fix this.
I’m always afraid of getting a fine or causing an accident every time I answer a call. And since I’m on the road a lot, most of my calls are made while driving.

Indeed, the problem persists in version 3.2. I will mention it in the Gitlab issue as well as in the 3.2 feedback.
I feel relatively powerless to help resolve this issue. Perhaps @Manoj can guide us on how to call on a developer to take charge of this issue? (Still awaiting stage at present)…

Have updated developers about the bluetooth related issues in FP6. There are a couple already in gitlab

Update: The developers are putting in some fixes in v3.3 . They will also be checking some of the other bugs that are linked above.
