I see there is also now an update for the VR Banking App. Has anyone tried it?
On my FP4 with official eOS3.1.4, which I had bought from murena, VR SecureGoPlus 420015 works as usual. ![]()
Do you know what “without Google” means in detail? Are the official Google Play Services necessary? Or has the bootloader to be locked? (If you do not know, no problem - I could also call GLS Bank as I am a customer, too.)
the app will do a lookaround in the environment, knock at ro.debuggable and ro.secure. It will insist on not running on a userdebug build (that community builds are). userdebug builds can be considered “rooted” (via adb).
official builds are “user” builds, but it happened before that some were still a “userdebug” (the first public fp6 build, since resolved)
ps: as to the Google statements of the bank support, unless this is someone who does look at logcat too (and can attribute microg as to what it does), you already know more if you do
I am having the same issue with my GLS app so I am stuck here without being capable of accessing my bank account at all. (CMF Phone 1, eOS 3.1.4).
I got the smartphone with eOS preinstalled from Murena if that helps.
I reported the issue to Atruvia, the company providing the app. They came back to me saying
" there will be an update for SecureGo plus within the next few days.
With the new version (4.2.1) your problem should be also resolved."
Let’s hope the update will really solve the issue.
A GitLab issue has been opened: SecureGo+ doesn't work since the 3.14 Update (#8950) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab
Unfortunately the problem persists for me on 4.2.1.
I can confirm that the problem still persists with version 4.2.1.
For me, too. 4.2.1 still does not work and redirects to the mentioned website.
I’m sorry, I didn’t ask for more details.
BTW, the new version 4.2.1 also doesn’t work. I stick to SmartPhoto TAN until there’s a fix.
Same here, the update to version 4.2.1 did not do the trick. I again reported the issue to Atruvia. Let’s hope for the best.
Thanks for reporting a summary on the issue.
The use of banking apps etc. on /e/OS (or any other custom ROM) is a “whack-a-mole” game: If one workaround has been implemented by the ROM developers, a new app version may break because new checks have been introduced etc.
If possible, try to have a backup method available for online banking transactions if one banking app does no longer work on /e/OS (like @Sunfish has described here).
Same problem here.
Thanks for reporting the issue to Atruvia.
Same issue here with SecoreGo Blabla version 4.2.1 (October 7th) on Pixel 5 with e/OS 3.1.4-t (official) with locked bootloader.
I too called my bank (since the idiotic message says “call your bank advisor” as if it was the bank’s job to maintain this app that is sold to dozens of banks) and they too said that the next update some time in the future will fix it. They also said rebooting my phone may fix it and if I needed money I could email (!) a letter asking for money with my signature to them. This is all just so grotesque… Thank god AI will fix all those problems soon…
Same issue with Google Pixel 6a. If there is any update how to resolve the topic I would really appreciate.
I just send a Mail to Atruvia asking for help.
Greetings
Sa
On my Fairphone 4 (3.1.4 official and locked bootloader) 4.2.1 works fine.
It would be helpful, if those having problems provide the following information:
Pixel 6a e/OS 3.1.4. bluejay, bootloader unlocked
