Signal update or not update ? App as system app

/e/llo the community. I have a notification prompt to update signal in /e/ 0.2 shall I update it ? Or wait for next /e/ OS system update with TWRP ? Cause signal is a system app. And what is recommended for other apps like telegram and so on ? Thanks

Go ahead and update it, as for telegram the Fdroid repository will notify you of an update.

System apps should not be updated from external sources like F-Droid.

The system apps …the applications that are installed along with the /e/ ROM are all tested for their ability to work together. Updating an app from that group separately may upset this ‘balance’. That may be the reason why the notifications are failing. Ideally this should not happen and moving ahead once we have the /e/ app store and installer integrated this issue should not come up.
