Talk back fos froze my fairphone

If my source is correct then recovery adb has no acces to such partition.
So you have same problem? When did it happen?

Try the volume buttons to turn it off. Hold both for 3 seconds @silmathoron

Edit: Why does replyihg sometimes not show correct to what I reply…

My earlier research found GitHub - talkback-foss-team/talkback-foss: Unofficial FOSS-friendly fork of Google's TalkBack.

This is not directly applicable to /e/OS but …

adb shell settings put secure enabled_accessibility_services app.talkbackfoss/com.google.android.marvin.talkback.TalkBackService

suggests that talkback is installed in an “unusual” secure way … and dependent on accessibility_services (in that case).

@mihi this is not set by default, unfortunately (it really should be turned on by default once you activate talkback, IMO)

@aibd the problem is that both pm and settings lead to an inaccessible or not found error, so there is nothing I can do.

I finally lucked out and managed to make my pattern swiping with two fingers, good luck to the rest of you, I’ll still try to find another way to turn off talkback from adb!
Hopefully some /e/OS dev sees this and provides some solution too!

@silmathoron Thank you very much. It is so obvious, all swipes need two fingers. So unlocking also :grin:

No need for gitlab or anything, just normal (a bit strange behaviour of TalkBack) TalkBack gesture :face_exhaling::face_exhaling:

ow, OK, good for you, honestly I already knew it but depending on your pattern it can be really hard to do, I honestly thought I would never manage it

Then there is also this ‘Too many wrong patterns, wait 5 minutes’.

If you do support always assume the other person has 0 knowledge, so called obvious stuff is never obvious.

Which they the link with gestures for me was already god sent from @tcecyk

doesn’t work for my inverted N diagram…I tried and tried…

yeah, I also still have another device that I’m unable to unlock…

And how is that possible? Difficult pattern to draw with 2 fingers?

And how is that possible? Difficult pattern to draw with 2 fingers?

that and the fact that the lockscreen crashes when I reach the border before I can finish the pattern

same for me, it crashes on the bottom left

Oh, so the 2-finger vs. 1-finger is perhaps something that could invalidate the pattern (otherwise properly drawn), but not necessarily the reason why the Unlocker itself crashes. This is what I gather from the above.
Interesting, though, that at least two of you were able to unlock using 2-finger swipes.
Peculiar behaviour, I would say.

@vega someone finally managed to make the pattern work and unlock the 2nd phone, they’re not really sure how they did it and I don’t remember whether they did it with one finger after selecting the 1st node or with 2 fingers…
Anyway, we were 3 people on it for 1h30 and one of us finally lucked out and made the pattern work so the only advice I can give you is “good luck, don’t give up” and I’ll try to see where I should raise an issue on the /e/OS tracker in the meantime

Do I understand correctly that by “tracker” you mean GitLab?

Report an issue
to create the account you may need @Manoj 's help !

I don’t think it is a bug, but if a blind person has this unlock method then I would deeply ask myself why and if someone couldn’t advise against it.
