5ber eSIM Card Device/ROM Support

I was planning on buying a 5ber eSIM Card to make my POCO F5 and X3 NFC (both with nano dual SIM) usable with eSIM providers and I’m a little puzzled right now, because as it seems compatibility is not based on the device but used ROM.

The 5ber.eSIM app can check compatibilty and on /e/OS-T 2.4 it’s telling me that the POCO X3 NFC (surya) is not compatible:

However with the same phone and LMDroid (which is based on LineageOS as well) it is showing that SIM1 (but not SIM2) is compatible:

Is this a A13 vs A14 thing or something else?

I have yet to try with pure LineageOS and crDroid, but that it’s telling that /e/OS is not compatible but LMDroid is on the same phone is quite surprising, because I rather thought it’s device related and not ROM related.

So the results from the remaining tests are in. The summary:

  • /e/OS-T (A13) → 5ber eSIM app show no support
  • LMDroid (A14) → 5ber eSIM app show support in SIM slot 1
  • LineageOS (A14) → 5ber eSIM app show support in SIM slot 1
  • crDroid (A14) → 5ber eSIM app show support in SIM slot 1

So what’s really the catch here? Is it a A13 vs A14 thing or is something missing in /e/OS that makes the 5ber eSIM app think that their eSIM card is not supported?
