Hello, I am a Murena cloud user and have been impacted by the outage. Luckily, I have all my data backed up on my computer and have not been as impacted as other users.
I just wanted to offer my support and encouragement to the Murena team. Service outages are stressful, especially when you are a startup. I wanted to let the team know that there are many out there, like myself, who are supportive of E/OS’ mission. We want you guys to succeed. We will be here when you all recover from this whether that be one week, one month, or six months (I hope it doesn’t take that long, but it might). I want Murena to succeed and am rooting for you guys. Keep it up! Please, please take a day off on Christmas! God Bless!
Please reply to this post to share you support & love for the Murena & E/OS teams!
Persevere through all the bumps in the road and we will all see a brighter tomorrow together
Keep up the fantastic work e/os and murena.io team!!!
I don’t know why people complain when someone is doing something to solve a big problem taking small steps towards greatness. So I guess people never seen Bambi before. You crawl before you walk you wobble and fall down but you get back up and try again. With each baby step forward Google is fading to black and we will push e/os into the light.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS ENJOY YOUR LOVED ONES AND KEEP PRIVACY A PRIORITY… I GOT NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT ANYONE WHO IS MAKING SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING.
Many many thanks for all the team. Through /e/OS, i’ve found some kind of digital haven where no trackers and publicity can reach me. You’ve turned this monstruous data leak in a safe place, where every apps work despite google absence.
Please have some rest and enjoy christmas. You deserve it.
I am not in the team ‘‘no backup, no mercy’’. I was one of the users who was also affected by this and I was also fortunate enough to have the data on my computer.
Certainly it was a shock to notice that this happened but actually it’s also a good thing that it happened because it clearly shows that this dependency is always a high risk.
No matter if it’s a big company, which lockss out users because they change their mind for certain reasons or in this case such a project.
‘My data is my data’ means that we have to keep the data on our devices and that cloud solutions are good for exchange, backup … collaboration anytime, any place in the world.
Hopefully things will work smoother in the future and that’s keep in mind.
It’s a relief to see so many other users sharing my opinion. I’ve got nothing to add to what’s already been said here, except my own thanks to the project.
I also must agree and say a big thank you to e/OS and Murena teams. With my FP4 purchase from Murena, I have sacrificed nothing, though I had expected I would need to. For my admittedly simple needs it has truly been a perfect replacement.
I even quickly found open source alternative to music app I had been paying for, all while it spied upon me.
This is not just a great OS & phone, its a privacy tool to assist me in better decisions & purchases going forward. Thankful I went down this path.
e/OS makes me happy every day. The problems that occasionally arise are comparatively minor compared to being helplessly at the mercy of Big Data. I really hope that the Murena team retains the strength to continue developing the project. Thank you very much for the great work done so far.

I join the greetings of thanks. I came to eOS when I started to investigate the world of custom roms. As a free software hacktivist and living in South America, coming to eOs was a very pleasant experience, as it is a crucial tool to raise awareness about the use of smartphones. Not only for privacy issues but rather for the second life that allows to give to the “old” smartphones free google systems like eOs, which also seek to be as “user friendly” as possible.
I understand the problem with the murena cloud downtime, but as several forum members have said, we are collaborating with a unique project. I think it is very important to push for an alternative to the tyranny of Google on cell phones and for that we have to make the project known, to show that it is not only possible but necessary to have an alternative Android to Google and corporations.
