Hi,

In short: If you installed stable build, you could lock the bootloader again. Be aware it will erase all your data.
If you are on dev now, I would suggest to keep it unlocked and get used to the message.
Long story: Bootloader topic has been discussed alot on this Forum. You’ll find explanations about it
Hi @snake29 there are particular issues related to locking the bootloader on a Fairphone. Please check out the install page Install /e/OS on a Fairphone FP4 - “FP4” where you will see this “Caution”.
Caution: The FP4 comes with an anti-rollback feature. Google Android anti-roll back feature is supposedly a way to ensure you are running the latest software version, including the latest security patches.
If you try installing a version of /e/OS based on a security patch that is older than the one on your device, you will brick your device. Click onDetails
below for detailed information
(My emphasis,) please follow the link and read the Details section. (Incidentally there is no distinction mentioned there between stable and dev builds.)
The message in your image is about Verified Boot state and generated from Boot Flow | Android Open Source Project.
Thanks for your answers.
That’s what I did …
I had to change from Android 12 to 13. Then I used easy-install under Debian.
I followed the procedure here : Try the Easy Installer beta
I joined a screen capture about my version /e/os installed.
"Once you have completed the above steps and before rebooting you can lock your Bootloader.
fastboot flashing lock_critical
fastboot flashing lock
WITHOUT risking to BRICK my phone !
What do you think ?
Thanks
You have to take account of the “Detail”. For instance, what did you see, before the install, as:
To check the security patch level on your phone with a locked bootloader, prior to installing /e/OS, open your phone
Settings
»About Phone
»Android Version
»Android Security Patch Level
.Then compare it against the level of the security patch on the /e/OS build as visible in the Downloads for FP4 section below.
Of course now do you know the “prior” date?
Perhaps you kept a copy of the download? … or exact notes?
After reflection I think I will leave my phone in this state,
because I don’t want to risk losing several hundred euros.
It poses me no problem.
