About issues on Pixel 8 pro (husky) devices

Hello all,

I’ve shortly own a google pixel 8 pro phone and have some issues with it since the v3.7 A16.
And I would like to gather here the issues for multiple purposes.
First for having 1st talk about issues to open afterwards a topic for deeper exchanges or tipp.
and informative for maintainer of rom or murena team for improvements…

  1. the launcher has some animation issues where the carousel dont work very well
    Sometimes that’s possible to swipe left and right, sometimes not. Sometimes not possible to close the app.
    I should often make a kind of swipe combo up down right left or similar to be able to close the app or turn the carousel.
    I’ve the impression that’s the software is shaped for a smaller devices (like pixel phone 8 ?)
    Its happen nearly by each usages on a day
  2. Rarely 1 or 2 time in a day I’m not able to to have any reaction by typing on a notification
  3. more rarely every 2 days, I cannot use an interaction item (button for example) on the top of an application
  4. every time: the music app reacts strange by using it with a list and played over bluetooth.
    After having changed to the next track It’s stops after 2 or 3 or 4s automatically. And the time cursor jerked between the current time and last second. (other music app plays the list normally)
  5. the awake the phone with double tap don’t exist. Is that a driver part support from a lower device blob? is that possible to activate it later ? (the original rom use it)
  6. Functionality of QrCode barcode recognition with camera app don’t work

Happened in v3.7.3 and now v4.0 by me.
Are other people experienced the same?

As far as the double tap wake the phone. Are you in developer mode?

Not 100% sure double tap needs developer mode but I thought I read it does need it. To close the phone with double tap does need developer mode.

Hello, thx for the reply.
No I don’t have this option in developer mode.
By the standard option under menu of display lock, there is the option to activate the screen by single tap. but this one is not good by me. by having the device in the pocket, it’s goes on a lots of time and will be warm.
Double tap would be better. much better

Hello Now after 1 week with the V4.1.1 I want to report how it is now with the issues that I’ve reported last Time.

  1. I’ve still the same problems with the launcher. Quite the same, nothing changed.
    1. I’ve not remark any problem with the notification than before :slightly_smiling_face: (don’t know if a fix was expected)
  3. regularly I’ve problem to use some buttons on the lower side of some apps. especially when the device stay flat on a surface. Don’t know exactly what’s happened. if someone want some more precisions on it then please ask :wink:
  4. The evolution of the issue in the usic app evolved in a interesting way, This stop always at the end of each track on a playlist, but now like it is intended. but for me is still an issue or a concept problem. I fell currently that the app is in some way primitiv, some controls are missing or hidden. I don’t see how to configure the playing of a playlist track per track, or all in one row, define blanks between the tracks, how to repeat the playlist, etc…
  5. still missing hadly the awake of display with double taps
  6. QR code recognition with the camera app still don’t work
