Accidental wake-up

Hello,

Using oneplus 12 for a few months and so far experience is great.

I have one issue which might be an user error.

I have enabled double tap to wake screen and switched on the accidental wake-up option, but still my phone’s screen swirches on every 3-4 steps while it’s in my pocket. Honestly the biggest down side is that it keeps skipping my songs while listening to music cause it touches the next song button.

Am i forgetting something or is the accidental wake-up option not operational yet?

It’s never easy to distinguish between accident and intention. That’s why BB10-Blackberries didn’t use double tapping for wake up but instead a swipe from the bottom up to the middle, executable with a thumb but (because of the distance) rather never an accident.

I can’t provide a solution. But if you’re interested you can try WaveUp (from F-Droid). This app doesn’t use tapping but the approximation sensor instead. Works better than thought. The trick is that not the presence of your hand or your body near the device is evaluated but the change of presence, that’s why you can have the device in your pocket and it remains off. For avoiding accidents you can define a number of repeats, you must then 2 or 3 times approximate the sensor with your hand (but this gets annoying by the time and looks also ridiculous).
