Actual location being used despite having everything turned off

Location data is turned off on my phone. Since day one. I don’t use it, i don’t need it.
Location use in my browsers is turned off / blocked (Brave and the pre installed one).
Advanced Privacys “Fake Geolocation” is activated.

Please post how the following settings are set for you …

• Settings - System - microG - Location - Wi-Fi location - Request from Mozilla
• Settings - System - microG - Location - Wi-Fi location - Request from Hotspot
• Settings - System - microG - Location - Wi-Fi location - Remember from GPS
• Settings - System - microG - Location - Mobile network location - Request from Mozilla
• Settings - System - microG - Location - Mobile network location - Remember from GPS
• Settings - System - microG - Location - Location server - Use /e/OS’s location system

Perhaps there’s something to see, for instance the last setting is fairly new.

Honestly i was amazed that the new method has become the default now, regardless of my connecting problem. Opening a menu to activate your preferred connection seems counterintuitive to me.

The default combined Internet toggle in the quick settings was introduced in the base for all Android 12 (S) back then, apparently Google liked it that way. You can get seperate toggles back by editing the quick settings menu …

Strange system icons pull down menu

Customising the quick settings menu the standard way hasn’t changed … pull down the whole menu, tap on the edit pencil icon at the bottom … [Screenshot_20230329-094010_Settings-2] This will show you the whole range of toggles available for the menu, you can just move them into the active menu or remove them from the active menu, separate Wi-Fi and Mobile data toggles are available to replace the combined Internet toggle.
