Hello, my gym makes it mandatory to use their spyware app to gain access to the gym. Is there any way to install 3rd party apps like this in a sandbox / safebox type of environment? I tried to install shelter, but can’t use it because the ‘work’ profile is already used for my actual work apps, some greedy microsoft stuff.
Please go easy on me with suggestion; I came over from Apple and am struggling a lot to adapt to the Android environment. Love it and its privacy advantages, but find it difficult to know what is happening or how to access things. For example, I thought maybe I could use the ‘work’ profile as the already infected pool of data and add the gym add there, but can’t figure out how to do that. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think GrapheneOS provides those sandboxes.
Not aware if there’s anything like that for /e/OS or more generic LeneageOS.
Actually, quick research suggests the app Insular from f-droid Insular | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository , which is the OSS-Fork of an app call Island.
Both should provide a sandbox feature.
Haven’t got any experience, though.
Another option could be to create a dedicated user profile for that single app or group of apps. AFAIK user profiles don’t have access to apps or user data of other users.
