I’ve just received my new Fairphone 6 with Murena e os (updated to 4). I’m not an expert at all, but I’ve been following the Fairphone/Murena project for couple of years and I finally decided to take a step in the direction of more privacy and freedom.
For work, I really need Airbnb app. I have installed it from App Lounge. The travel mode seems to work pretty good. The problem is when I try to switch to Host mode. It appears a download icon with 0% and the option “Download in background”, but it doesn’t get past this point and the download apparently doesn’t even start.
Has anybody experienced the same problem? Does anybody know if there is any workaround?
I searched the forum and found a post with the same issue that dates back to 2022 (I past the link below). At that time, it seems that there was no solution found. I wonder if there is any now.
Unfortunately the problem isn’t resolved. I’m still unable to to switch to the hosting mode with AirBnB app. Even after having installed the AirBnB app with a real Google account on my /e/OS Samsung.
At the moment, the only thing that works for me is the airbnb chat, so I can at least receive messages and reply to them. I need to carry two smartphones around. Hopefully, there will be a workaround soon, even for example by using the chinese version (at the moment not available on App Lounge).
I have never been able to get it to work. Thankfully the messaging doesn’t rely on the host app so I can respond to messages. I can use a browser to check stuff, but tend to just wait and use my laptop. Weirdly sometimes the reviews work and sometimes it doesn’t.
Airbnb hosting is now working. I followed the link in a customer payment email, got a SMS verification check and then the app opened in hosting mode. Let’s me swap between hosting and travelling with no problems.
Hello, thanks so much for your follow-up. That’s great news. I don’t normally use external links, it’s worth a try to see if I get host mode to work this way.
