Alternative for Youtube NewPipe is running Facebook ad

I tried Newpipe as an alternative for Youtube but everytime I run it it starts with a Facebook ad which takes about 45 sec to run. Is this usual or dis I download a wrong copy?

This might explain it:

And I’ve read that ads are not possible to block if they originate from the same source as the video. (Still, it’s a little insulting to see ads from F***book.)

It is possible to block all ads and sponsors, for TVs SmartTubeNext is very good at it…
Maybe this fork will worth a try

Also, Youtube Vanced may work with /e/ devices’s integrated MicroG, using it’s Manager : Vanced Manager 2.6.2 - Install Official YouTube Vanced Easily!

And, from STN FAQ, another one: GitHub - libre-tube/LibreTube: An alternative YouTube front end, for Android.

Thanks a lot smu44 it is always such a delight this community is so helpful.

Tried it, works well except 4K (2160p).
NB : 4K is OK for me within Browser, so it’s an app or server problem.
Anyway, who watch 4K on a smartphone screen ?

Weirdly enough I’m using NewPipe for a while now, and I never had any fb ad or any ad. Not really helpful I know.

Try searching YouTube and F-Droid will offer LibreTube as an alternative.
