Android Auto encountered an error
Communication error 8 - Your car’s software didn’t pass Android Auto security checks. Make sure the car’s date and time are set correctly, and that Google Play services has been updated.
I don’t use it… But I remember that some other users report that they did the “Android Auto” app update (in App Lounge or Aurora Store) and that fixed the issue…
Same here. That is, I’m on Nothing Phone (1) Spacewar 3.6 - A16 and AA is working, but only with CoMaps. Most of the other apps are not working. CoMaps is very unstable.
Tried my other phone, FP4 3.6 - A14. Same problem. CoMaps working but instable, other apps crashing. Spotify will work, I found, but only when set from the phone. Both phones had a wired connection to the headunit. Tried disabling the connection setting from within the phone and then reconnect, no improvement. My feeling is that the 3.6 update has broken things.
I had the same problem but I found the solution (for myself at least) this afternoon.
I juste opened App Lounge and searched for Android Auto app. For a unknown reason it doesn’t propose me an update until I opened the app window ( not the app itself!). I updated it and everything works fine again.
Hm, I think I broke something. In Aurora Store I tried removing Android Auto, in order to reinstall the app, in the hope it could fix something. Android Auto is removed from the e/os settings menu, but Aurora Store still is seeing that Android Auto is installed. So I cannot reinstall, and think I have to wait for 3.7 update.
I have the same problem with the Pixel 7. It doesn’t work wirelessly or wired. When connected by cable, I get the following red screen.
Note: I think the problem started after an update of the car software. At that time, I was still on v3.5. But in any case, it doesn’t work with v3.6 either."

Hi, managed to update the AA on my phone. And it made no difference with the former AA version. Although some folks in this community say it makes an improvement for AA to work after the update. Still having stability problems, mostly with Spotify. But I’m having no red screens; AA is working with navigation (CoMaps) for me. My headunit has an old version of Android, might be that this is my luck in this case.
Today I auto-updated to AA 16.5.661214. There’s definitely something going on with the AA updates. CoMaps now working less stable, and Spotify working more stable. But overall no great stability yet.
