Android Auto on e/os without Google

With Android 13 (e/os version T), it is made possible to use Android Auto with e/os !. It requires to install and use some applications coming from Google.

In the docs, e/os states that “We are exploring ways to bypass those requirements.”

As I would love to make use of Android Auto, but dislike the installation of the Google app, Google Maps and Google Speech Recognition & Synthesis on my e/os phone, what is the status of exploration?

Hi @voorstad for now we do not have any updates on a process where in you can avoid installing Google apps to get Android Auto to work. We will continue working on finding an alternate method and share details if there is any positive news.
