Android Auto with Maps

Hi,

Is it possible to use Magic Earth/Maps instead of google Maps when using Android auto? My Android auto seems to be in an isolated state (which I like), but I cannot use anything other than Google Maps.

Additionally, I’d like to use the Spotify interface as well if possible on my car screen.

Thanks in advance!

Does nobody have this problem/desire? :frowning:

So I figured out how to add Spotify to the list of icons, that’s described here:

However, Maps/Magic Earth still doesn’t show up

The big question is if Magic Earth is Android Auto enabled at all. At the start of Android Auto, only Google Maps could be used. Later on Waze, TomTom and other apps were made Android Auto enabled.

So please check first if Magic Earth is Android Auto enabled (I don’t know). Not sure what you mean with /Maps.

Seems Magic Earth is supported:

(source: FAQ EN - Magic Earth)

Magic Earth is integrated into e/OS as ‘Maps’.

Magic Earth is supported, the problem then probably has to do with the installation method I suppose. I don’t think I can uninstall Maps however, so a clean install from the app store is not really an option.

Happy to report that clearing AA storage and then re-enabling ‘unknown sources’ from developer mode worked!

To follow up further on this, I can activate the app from the car screen now, but it just shows me an empty screen with ‘No messages during this trip’ (or something). It refuses to show the map and navigation sadly.

Same issue.
Is it on the road map from murena team? Would be nice if the system nav app would be supported.

What about OSMAnd? Has anyone gotten that to work with Android Auto?

Hey,

Apparently nobody uses Android Auto with Magic Earth on E, seeing the lack of traction or even topics on this subject. I guess, we’re stuck with Google in the car for now.
