APN Settings for Telus

I am wondering if anyone has had to modify their APN settings to work with Telus?

Using Teracube 2s I am noticing a couple of oddities since switching to this device:

  • Can receive MMS but not send them myself
  • Phone reception is limited (like don’t bother unless you’re in an open field)
  • Phone reception quality is poor - can have full bars LTE and people can’t hear me talk while I hear them perfectly clear
  • Phone reception frequently drops - goes from LTE to H+ to emergency only without moving physical location

I’m using the default phone app, a single SIM, mobile network enabled, VoLTE enabled, WiFi disabled - don’t want it enabled, roaming disabled, allowing 2G, and automatically selecting network options. When I go into the listed APNs everything is grayed out, so I don’t even know how I’d modify these settings if needed.

Just updating here: with the system update to eOS 3.5 I am not able to send/receive (albeit unreliably) MMS. I am still having issues with phone reception dropping to 3G or nothing as soon as you attempt to use the phone. I can be in an area with full bars LTE coverage and as soon as I try to make/receive a call it drops off, and then returns again when the call is ended.

This sounds like a bug no?

I don’t have an answer, but just FYI, if this is accurate, Telus turned off 2G in 2017, and is scheduled to shut down 3G at the end of this month, so your issues may get worse.

Does the Teracube 2s supply all the LTE bands that Telus uses? And does VoLTE actually work during your calls?
