Hey everyone, I’m a complete newbie with /e/ and I’m thrilled so far.
However, I have a problem and I couldn’t find an answer here.
In “App Lounge” you are offered to create an “Exodus report” on the subject of data protection for the apps. You can also view trackers. But unfortunately it doesn’t work. When I click on it, a browser opens and tries to access “reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/en/”. But this fails with the error message “err_connection_refused”.
In another browser (Firefox) it does not work either.
However, if I switch off Wifi and use the mobile data connection, then it works.
I can also open the page on a notebook that is connected to the same Wifi.
What could be the problem here? Thank you very much.
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem, exodus-privacy seems to be blocked from the ISP.
With TOR Browser or through a VPN, I have access to exodus-privacy.eu.org
but from the wifi…
$ dig exodus-privacy.eu.org +short
217.70.189.62
$ nc -vz 217.70.189.62 443
nc: connect to 217.70.189.62 port 443 (tcp) failed: Connection refused
$ nmap -Pn 217.70.189.62
Starting Nmap 7.94SVN ( https://nmap.org ) at 2025-02-08 14:56 CET
Nmap scan report for front1.exodus-privacy.eu.org (217.70.189.62)
Host is up (0.010s latency).
Not shown: 998 filtered tcp ports (no-response)
PORT STATE SERVICE
80/tcp closed http
443/tcp closed https
Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 4.47 seconds
Theory II (instead of rate limiting): overall request volume is exhausting their uwsgi workers - I scrolled 20-30 pages of apps until every response was N/A - but I wasn’t blocked per se, just no answer. Switching over many /e/OS users with the !522 MR must have heightened their request volume? /e/ should hit them up and ask if they’re unhappy - API is down? · Issue #605 · Exodus-Privacy/exodus · GitHub
Hello,
I asked directly to Exodus.
My IP had been banned for exceeding their limit of more than 50 API requests per second three times in a short space of time.
