So I bought the new FP6. Bought it directly from fairphone.com with /e/ OS installed, so I don’t have to do that myself.
Coming from the FP3, one of the updates that I was hoping for was aptX adaptive. The Fairphone 6 comes with this. Of course I was unsure whether /e/ OS would bring that as well, but I looked specifically at the specs page on the shop side for the /e/ variant and there it also says in the sound section: “The supported formats include: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD,aptX adaptive (LDAC not confirmed)”
So I expected aptX adaptive to be on board, only to find out now that it’s not the case? Depending on which of my headsets I use, I get either normal aptX or aptX HD, but neither gets aptX adaptive, although both headsets definitely support it (I’m using it with other devices and it works fine).
Any word on that? At least, if they can’t support it in /e/ OS, they should adapt that specs page, because it seems to be misleading.
