Audio jack is not working with 2,5mm to 3,5mm adapter

I have tested it on several (though all Sony Xperia) devices and the dont recognize a headset which is connected with a 2,5mm to 3,5mm adapter.
It works on the same devices with stock ROM, so its clearly a software issue.
Any ideas or maybe easy fixes for this?
Would be great!

Phone Jack have 4 connexions (1 tip and 3 rings) :
Ground / Left speacker / Right speacker / Microphone

As I wrote, it works on other devices with stock ROM, so it looks like a software isssue!

And it does not work also on a device with Lineage OS if that helps to find the problem?
