I tried flashing Magisk to boot, recovery, and then both, but Magisk app still claimed “N/A”. This is an A/B type booter (Sony Xperia 1 V XQ-DQ54 pdx234), that’s why I flashed both boot and recovery. I don’t need Magisk anymore, I found a workaround.
Banking app complains about rooting and doesn’t work anymore, so something changed despite Magisk not detecting itself. Then I reflashed the original boot and recovery from the /e/ installation package, but the bank app stays broken even after un+reinstalling.
When flashing boot, fastboot said "Writing ‘boot_b’ ".
The model-specific /e/OS installation instruction has a section for “Ensuring all firmware partitions are consistent” by “copying the contents of the active slot to the inactive slot” - should I do that now, in addition to reflashing boot and recovery? Will it break anything I’ve got working? I don’t want a factory reset.
I don’t know what reflashing dtbo, vbmeta, or vendor_boot would do.
