Block Network Access for App - not working?

I have an issue with per-app level network access. Under Settings > Apps > {Specific App} > Mobile data usage, there is a toggle “Allow network access”. Presumably this is meant to disable network access completely for the app in question. However, now I’m not sure. I installed a new app a couple of weeks back and immediately disabled network access using this toggle before even starting it. However, it’s currently showing (foreground) network usage of 76.35kB. Any idea what could be going on here?

I’m using an FP5. It was running e/OS 3.1.4 (I think or 3.1 at least), but I updated it a few days ago to 3.2.

VPN or Advanced Privacy could impact that

That’s not working 100%. That’s why I suggested internet permission.

But many people let me know that that simple toggle was enough.

Google translate taught me long ago that internet permission is better than the common toggle under internet and WiFi .

Not quite sure what you’re saying here about internet permission. What would be different (that would make it actually work!)?
