For more than a week I have only been able to receive emails with my @murena.io email account but cannot send them.
The reason is certainly that I wanted to send a Christmas email to 20 addresses. I now know that this is not allowed with a free account.
The Error Message “Matched map: LOCAL_BM_FROM 554 5.7.1” appears both on the Murena 2 Phone and in the Webaccount.
How can I unblock my account again? Of course, I urgently need to be able to send email again.
We have a block on email ID which send multiple emails within a specific time. On the free account you can not send more than 2-3 emails in an hour. Including cc or bcc all emails are counted separately. I have unblocked your email and it should be accessible now. Please remember not to exceed the maximum of 2 email in an hour on the free account.
Hi,
I also signed up for the murena free version recently to try it out.
I cannot find any information about the mail limit, neither in the Terms of Service nor on the website… where does it say so?
Restrictions for free email are ok, it is not financed with advertising or data theft, so a large range of functions cannot be offered for free. 3 emails per hour are of course very few, perhaps it would be enough to limit the number of recipients per email to 1, i.e. not to allow serial emails and to allow 10 emails per hour.
However, I find it strange that I can’t find the option to switch to a paid version anywhere in my free account. Or am I blind?
Thanks, but unfortunately I don’t have this option. I remember calling it that way before the server crashed. Maybe it’s because the full functionality is still not available
Hi everyone.
I am also on the free account side and I was not aware of the « 2 mails per hour » limit. As @machro I could not find the information anywhere… @Manoj could you please tell us where this limit is explicitly written ?
Thanks
Please know our file system is not working at the moment so you will not be able to enjoy your paid storage except for your mailbox. Proceeding with your subscription nonetheless would mean a lot to us.
It is not written in the documentation as we have still not finalized what number to maintain for free account email sends per hour. For now the setting is for 2 we may increase it once the outage specific issues are resolved. Have to also take into consideration spammers who misuse the free service,
Thank you for the answer @Manoj. I did not understand that the limitation was related to the service outage. Anyway, 2 emails per hour seems really insufficient to me. But it’s up to you to decide
I would seem to face almost the same situation except that I cannot send any emails since months. Are emails blocked for an unlimited period as soon as someone exceeds this limit of 3 sent emails per hours or is it a different issue? And do failed attempts to send mail count just like successful attempts? My account is xxxxxx@murena.io (anciently xxx@e.email which cannot send any email since a much longer time)
Hi @rorain your murena.io email should be functional now. Please note there is a limitation of 2-3 email in an hour on free accounts. This number is kept low to prevent spammers. The emails in cc or bcc are also counted separately. I am removing your email ID from your post as this is a public site and others will be able to see the email ID.
Hi and thanks a lot for this intervention, which worked.
I have additional questions, the answer of which may interest others.
Would it be possible to render e.email functional also? It was my original adress and if I had to make a choice I would rather pick this one.
Could someone please give some precisions about how this limitation works?
Is it a maximum or 2 or 3? Is there a complex decision tree covering the applied rate to each particular case?
Your answer seems ot imply that each recipient accounts for one email, including in the cc and bcc list: does it imply that any mail sent with more than 2 to 3 recipients lead to block any further email? Is such an email with more than 2 to 3 recipients automatically blocked since it is exceeding the limitation all by itself?
Even more importantly are the failed attempts taken into account?
What is the duration of the penalty we endure when sending more than 2 or 3 emails? Is it a permanent penalty?
I would really be thankful if anyone would answer all of these questions - or at least the last ones.
Free accounts at present get a maximum of 2 emails per hour. To be on the safe side keep it as 2. The number if not fixed as we deal with spammers. Which is why it is not documented. It may change but depends on a resolution to the issue we have of a large number of spammers that we see misusing our email IDs.
An email or cc or bcc will be counted separately. Mails will automatically get blocked if this violation is detected.
Block is till the account is unblocked as happened in this case.
Free account users can let me know on this forum and I can have the account unblocked.
Thanks for the additional information: could you also tell me if it is possible to unblock my e.email address also?
Because of these limitations I will now be in the process of unsubscribing a number of mailing lists, the use of which is incompatible with using this address any further: I may have to send emails to robots with my proper identity to get unsubscribed and it may be a tricky business to use (for instance) my ISP smtp server instead (It was possible some time ago, but perhaps has proved a bad practice since then - and perhaps it was a long time ago).
