As an alternative, try LibreTube
Most of the time it still works when NP isn’t and you can import subscriptions from NP

You can also add our own F-Droid repository to your client to receive updates even faster.
In F-Droid use Package sources …

To all in this thread:
All piped players were broken on the same day by gOOgle. They found a method to stop the piped players. Have a look at your favourite player’s site and look for updates.
Newpipe still has a bug, sometimes will stop or switch tracks during playback.
