I previously used Brave browser along with the Duckduckgo search engine to stop ads and tracking but changed to Vivaldi as it seems to have even better built in privacy options.
Anybody else using Vivaldi browser?
I know Eos has is own privacy options but no harm having multiple layers?
Vivaldi is the browser I prefer. It has some small flaws, but works overall very well.
There’s still a bug regarding Desktop / Mobile view, which gets stuck if one enforces one mode in settings - even disabling this standard setting again won’t fix it (only a full reset of settings does).
As such I recommend to not change those default / standard settings regarding desktop view, then the manual selection works just fine without bugs occurring.
Then there’s the common problem of Vivaldi, that it is not possible to simply export bookmarks without a sync account in use. Means: to export them it is easiest to use the server-based sync incl. throw-away account with temp mail, because the common export / import functions are still not here or working as they should.
This aside it works very fast, reliable and stable. Build-in ad blocker works fine, aside from a few sites which won’t work well with it activated (tracker blocker works almost always, but as example Amazon’s coupons are not able to get activated by clicks if “ad blocking” is active).
Those are just my own experiences and checked flaws, for other users they might be different or not existent.
