Hi there,
I’d like to report a bug whereby my Fairphone 4 doesn’t provide me with the option to switch the USB mode to ‘USB Tethering’. This started happening a month or two again after an e/os update.
In most cases when I plug a USB cable in to my laptop and attempt to activate tethering, the USB connection doesn’t pop up in the top pull-down menu, and when I go and find the USB connection settings manually, all data-y options are greyed out.
I have a workaround which allows me to USB-tether the phone: reboot the phone with the USB cable plugged in. At this point the USB connection info shows up in the top pull-down menu and I am able to configure it in USB-tethering mode. Note that this only works once. The next time I plug the USB cable in, I have to reboot again.
I would have reported this bug directly on https://gitlab.e.foundation, but I’m unable to sign up with my personal email address (It isn’t clear to me whether this is by design).
