Then, it’s not a self-hosting bug: server don’t care about your device being on a metered connection, or not.
Yeah i take pics on my phone and nothing gets uploaded into the cloud…
For some reason i dont have edrive on thr list of apps. Wouldnt pictures juet get uploaded frkm the gallery directly into the cloud gallery? I am worried that there is no script to grab the photos to the cloud
That’s probably why you won’t get any upload 
You need a client software to synchronize things with Nextcloud, Android don’t come with one OOTB.
Would you mind to share your device, Android version, /e/ ROM release?
