[Calendar Etar] Appointments don't show up if details are entered directly on creation

Whenever I create an appointment in the calendar and directly enter details that require a click on “edit” before saving the appointment, the whole appointment will be lost. I made a screen recording demonstrating the issue:

Is anybody else experiencing this bug? I have this issue at least since a few months. My phone is a Teracube 2e from Murena.

I am also not sure where to properly report this. There is an etar repository of the e.foundation*, which is apparently forked from Github*, but that on the other hand seems to be just a mirror of something else and has no issue tab. Then there is the Github repo of the Etar-Group, but I am not sure if this bug is in Etar itself or in some adaption of it.

*) I wanted to put a link here, but I am not allowed to post more than two links per post.

You have an older version than me (1.0.47) because switching “All Day” off keeps the end date to the same day. Check for updates.

Oh, the built in /e/ v2.2 calendar does this though.

(I think it’s great world peace is one day away on the agenda from you taking over the world)

naive question - at 0:43, do you touch “Fertig” ? it’s not clear from the video. But I’d think sure.

I go through the same steps and can’t reproduce, though I’m on an old version.

it would go to the backlog at Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab

Thanks for the quick replies. Yes, I clicked on “Fertig”, although the tap-down is unfortunately not visualized in the video. Thanks for the advice on the /e/-Backlog. I found a post there, stating that Etar from /e/OS is outdated anyway. Do you think it’s a good idea to just install a newer Etar version from F-Droid or would that cause conflicts?

I just updated my /e/OS to version 2.2-s-20240715417774-stable-emerald this morning, before I created the video. Unfortunately Etar itself does not show its version number.

Yes.

It works fine.

There is no issue

All issues are indeed fixed for me by installing the current F-Droid version of Etar. Thanks!

Hello,

I have the same problem with 2.2-t stable on FP4.
It would be nice, even if there is a workaround using Etar, to raise an issue on gitlab so that all users could benefit from a fix.

your video makes for a good bugreport. If you can spare the time or anyone else affected, it’s a good signal in the backog that Etar needs upgrade / attention.

Looking at logcat while going through the Videos actions might get you an error stacktrace that points to code.

Here you go:

I haven’t tried logcat though and also have no experience with it.
