Call Blocking Apps in Call Block Manager

Hi! I’m looking for a solution to the many robo-calls and scam calls that I have been receiving as I keep getting passive aggressive emails from people’s whose calls I miss. I looked up services like True Caller and Hiya and I don’t think there is a guarantee that they respect our data privacy (I read an article from 2019 that says services even sell our data to call centres to help them sell stuff to us sigh https://www.tomsguide.com/news/these-robocall-blocking-apps-may-be-secretly-selling-your-data ) .

I looked at the apps suggested by e/OS - does the team and/or community consider the apps recommended to be trustworthy?

My doubts: Should I Answer? is proprietry - though it seems like a good app the website isn’t very transparent about who the company are.

The applika GmbH app has little information available and this website is not even finished/real: https://applika.ch/

The third option seems to be full of Publicity Trackers.

Is there a reasonable option, or do I just have to get used to passive-aggressive emails? Or maybe buy a second phone number?

Hi,

I use Yet Another Call Blocker for several years now, and am very happy about it.
I think it is no longer actively developped, however it already has all the features I needed : opensource and no trackers, collaborative blocklist, possibility to add numbers in the blacklist with regex (e.g. +321* to block any number starting with +321), and the ability to export and import the personnal blacklist (to share with my wife or in case backup is needed…)

Hi,
KnownCalls, available from AppLounge, has a 10/10 Privacy Score and zero trackers. It allows one to only get calls from contacts.
In addition to using this app, unwanted calls seen in the Call History can also be blocked permanently.
