Call ended unexpected

Yesterday I had a call. The call ended unexpected because my device was suddenly in flight mode. How come? The only way to achieve this is that my ear opened the quick settings area where the flight mode button is on top and pressed it. Great!

Is there a way to avoid opening the quick settings as long as a call is running?

Shouldn’t a call black out the screen once accepted, at least when the phone got close to a surface/ ear?
Now I’m waiting for someone to call me to check … might take a while (for which I’m thankful in general, but it doesn’t help with troubleshooting when I don’t have another phone at hand  ).

(I remember on the Fairphone 2 calibrating the proximity sensor was a thing to correct this.)

Yes, but at least when you press the power button during the call it goes on again, doesn’t it? (Can’t remember pressing it but the power button on the left of an FP3 is indeed for unintended pressing, I said this several times.)

Yes, who does still call? (Women do.)

Even worse, everyone calls on messaging plattforms which feels like telephone in the 90s…

And when you pick up call, black screen and to open other stuff need tolbe away from head
