Camera app no auto flash light

I was using open camera and learned that the camera app shipped with e/os is based on it.

But I can’t find the option to enable auto flash which works on open camera. Did I missed something or does the camera app not support auto flash light?

In the stock Camera I have an icon in the toolbar (1) which opens something similar to a menu. This thing has itself a toolbar (2) which contains icons related to the flash.

This UI demonstrates all the problems you get when you only use icons. Try to use this under direct sunlight, rain or in movement.

Hi Irrlicht and thank you for your answer.
I attached a screenshot that shows that the icon for “auto flash” is missing in my camera app.
So my guess was there is an option somewhere to enable it but I couldn’t find it.

Interesting.

Can’t imagine that, I guess it’s device dependent. Mine is an FP3.

The actual OpenCamera app (version 1.55, the stock app is 1.53.1) is still different. In the top toolbar is another icon on the left which allows cycling through four different flashing modes (including auto flash), all on one icon which then changes it’s shape from tap to tap. (Again another UI principle …)

You can just install the original OpenCamera from F-Droid which is never a bad idea to see the differences. It has also other minor improvements. (A problem is then to distinguish the two applications …)
