My main camera doesn’t focus anymore.
The ultra-wide camera doesn’t have this issue — only the 1x and 2x lenses won’t focus.
I’ve tried a few things to fix it (resetting the camera cache, restarting the phone, using Pro mode for manual focus), but nothing helped.
I think it’s a hardware issue, but Fairphone support said they can’t help because I’m using /e/OS, and they can’t confirm whether it’s a software or hardware problem.
I`m on the newest version of /e/OS for Fairphone (3.4-a15-20260114569178-offical-FP6)
Has anyone else had this problem or found a way to fix it?
I am currently experiencing the same issue with the main camera on my FP6. I also reset the camera cache and restarted the phone. Furthermore, I took the phone apart and reconnected the main camera, but that didn’t help either.
I’m currently on the /e/OS version 3.3-a15-20251210556408-official-FP6.
Same problem here, it seems that the lenses have been switched. Using lens 1 I can take close-up images, lens 2 focuses normally on wider distances. While this enables me to continue taking pictures, many other apps (qr, banking etc.) don’t allow to change the lens and are unusable at the moment. I’m also on 3.4-a15-20260114569178-offical-FP6.
After trying several solutions without success, I decided to order a replacement main camera to check whether the issue was caused by /e/OS or the hardware itself.
After installing the new main camera, everything started working normally again — so it seems the problem was with the camera, not /e/OS.
I’ve opened another ticket with the Fairphone support team to request a refund for the faulty camera, and I’ll keep you updated on their response.
