Can I use an app that needs to be downloaded from the google play store?

I’m looking into apps to manage several VOIP numbers and ran across MySudo. I was able to download it from the App Lounge, but I’m unable to use it because I didn’t install it through Google Play. (The desktop app needs to come from the App Store as well, and the name, so maybe this is not the app for me, LOL!) Does /e/OS have something similar to the GrapheneOS sandbox, or is there another way I can convince MySudo it came from the Google Play so I can test it out?

Do you live in a supported MySudo country?

:us: Vereinigte Staaten, :uk: Vereinigtes Königreich, :canada: Kanada, :australia: Australien, :new_zealand: Neuseeland, :singapore: Singapur

Have you activated microg under System/microG with all options including add Google account?

Have you tried to import an existing profile from another working phone via QR code?

If its tree times yes and it is still not working then it probably never will ;- )

Vielen dank!

  1. Yes
  2. I didn’t know this was possible! I’ll need to decide whether I want to contaminate my phone :joy:
  3. I don’t have another profile, but it’s good to know this is an option.

I obviously have a lot to learn about /e/OS!

If, after testing, I decide jmp/cheogram is not for me, I may break down and add my google account (typing that makes me want to throw up!).
