Can not delete extra e-mail acount

**Dear people,
I was just exploring the e-mail application.
activated it with a new Murena e-mail adress and added one of my own e-mailadress, not related to google.
everything worked fine, so i wanted to delete my own email account, but where ever i searched or tried, i cannot find a way to delete this second account.
The account is also not in the account section, only in de MailApp
Does anybody know how to delete this account ?

With regards
gregor**

In the internal settings of the Mail app you see your configured mail accounts. Tap on the one you want to remove. When you’re in you see a 3-dots-menu in the upper right corner. This menu contains the feature of removing that specific account.

Edit, seems at first I missed the above

please check this post …

I still have this problem on a non fully updated phone so I cannot tell if this bug is fixed for my device.

I was able to rename the account, empty it and suppress all notifications from it.

Thanks for your reply. I could not reply sooner, because i got the error”An error occurred: You’re replying a bit too quickly. Please wait 35 minutes before trying again.” But ok.

I allready red that in a other topic.
when i open the account i want tot delete, the 3 dots menu have only 3 thing in it :

  • sort
  • select
  • Mark as

and thats it, not deleting account or anything

I guess you see the wrong things. What should be sorted there or selected?

Beginning from the normal view of the app (showing the received messages) the concrete steps are:

  1. swipe from left to right, a menu opens
  2. tap on “Settings” at the bottom
  3. then, in the Settings, you see an Accounts section
  4. tap on one of the accounts in this section
  5. when you’re in the account you see the 3-dots-menu
  6. the only item in this menu is “Remove account”

Aha now it is clear, found the delete button.
hopefully is stays deleted

thanks

If this would not have been successful you had still the chance to clear the entire storage of the Mail app. The Mail app would then be as virgin as it has been after installing /e/ on the device. You would have lost all the other mail accounts, OK, but also the unwanted one.

BTW: it’s still a good idea to make an export of all the settings including the accounts. So you don’t need to make all the settings again and again.

ok thanks for your reply
