I tried to download a map in the application for offline use, but the download simply does not start. I was using WiFi and had no trouble with internet access, so it shouldn’t be a connection issue. Does anyone else have this issue?
The app is version 7.1.24.44.112F2A33.FF608AF0 if it matters.
Which app? This would matter.
Stock maps (Magic Earth), compared with version of my installation.
In the Maps app is this your first download? If yes were you sure that you successfully gave permission where to store the downloaded map.
Settings icon > General > Map storage … I use “Prefer external storage” but this can be a little slow to start, and I guess this selection must be consistent with the location to which you navigate for map download location.

No, I already have some maps downloaded. I think the last time I downloaded a new map was earlh February, and I updated my maps a few weeks ago.
I checked in the parameters and it says the app has no permissions denied.
I also looked at the FAQ in the app but I didn’t see anything useful.
I get very little reaction to the download of a new map, especially slow start to SD card.
There is a notification, as this is marked allowed, after 10 mins I see download confirmed in progress as
In case the map you chose was unavailable today, you might check another map to see if all downloads might fail (??)
I had tried several maps yesterday and none of them worked, I was seeing the notification and the “download in progress” icon for only a fraction of a second.
But now it works again, I was able to download the map I wanted. Maybe there was some issue with the Magic Earth server?
I had the same problem yesterday so i guess it was an issue with the ME servers…
I also tried downloading maps in Magic Earth the whole weekend. It doesn’t work. So it seems to be a problem at the server side. Today it is working again, but very slow!
