Just upgraded to A15 on Motorola G7. This of course has left me with /e recovery. I need to reinstall Twrp.
I had hoped to boot Twrp from the bootloader using its img file. It boots, but freezes at the opening screen. I have also attempted to flash it without results. The bootloader remains unlocked.
Flashing gives:
./fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.5.2_10-0-river.img
(bootloader) is-userspace: not found
(bootloader) is-logical:recovery: not found
(bootloader) is-logical:recovery: not found

This is not supposed to work according to https://twrp.me/motorola/motorolamotog7.html, as on this device (and others) TWRP needs to embed itself into the boot partition instead of getting flashed to a recovery partition.
So you were right in first trying to boot the image. I don’t know why it would freeze for you, I don’t have the device, but that seems the way to go.
I’ve done it now and need help.
Tried to install TWRP into boot with ./fastboot flash boot twrp.img.
However, phone boots to a frozen start screen of twrp(as above) and nothing else. I can still get to the bootloader but when I restart it’s back to a frozen twrp screen
I’ve tried to reinstall the /e recovery with ./fastboot flash recovery recovery-e-3.7.3-a15-20260507618656-community-river.img but this gives errors.
Nope. It don’t work. The twrp-3.5.0_9-0-river.img boots okay and opens, and one can then install TWRP(same version) but then that freezes. I installed the latest TWRP for the Motorola 3.5.2_10 and this freezes as well. So its back to /e recovery.
This must be A15. Apparently security has been tightened. But this is a /e OS? Dunno
