I’m experiencing a persistent issue with the screen lock on my Fairphone 5 running /e/OS (version 3.4)
Error message:“The screen lock has already been changed. Please try the new screen lock…” – even though no lock is set. Therefore I cannot actually set a screen lock.
What I’ve tried so far:
Re-flashing /e/OS
Factory reset (via Settings and Recovery).
ADB commands to delete locksettings.db (→ “Permission denied” without root).
Downgrading to an older /e/OS version.
USB debugging is enabled, but su doesn’t work (no root access).
TWRP is not available for the Fairphone 5 (as far as I know).
Sounds like FPR (if you used a google account on the FP5 before the switch to /e/OS applies): https://community.e.foundation/search?q=fpr%20order%3Alatest
TLDR; you need to go back to stock delete the connection google has with your device then install /e/OS again.
@XPhoEniX … Factory Reset Protection hashtag frp would improve the search all Google accounts, passwords and PINs must be removed before install /e/OS.
