Can't connect my FP4 to Win11

Hello there,

unfortunately, I spent the last two hours trying unsuccessfully to debug my new smartphone app on my FP4. Earlier, it had worked without difficulty.

Of course, I am using the debugging mode (I’m connecting via USB), and I have an IDE called “IntelliJ IDEA” that should (and previously did) find my FP4 without any further action on my part.

I tried three different cables at four different USB ports (2 USBA-USBC and one USBC-USBC), I tried installing a new Android SDK, changing settings in the IDE (libusb vs. default/native and the subsequent settings), but nothing worked. I installed an external ADB software, but that wasn’t crowned with success either.

I thought I would finish everything up today, and now I’m struggling with defective software. Any help is very much appreciated.

Calling ADB lists the device as “offline”.

Also, I toggled the USB debugging options several times (as well as the developer options) and tried modifying the USB connection options (“data transfer”, “PTP” etc.)

File transfer works.

I have e/os /e/OS 3.0.1 a14 since June 2025 on FP4.
FP4 lost the capability to transfer files to and from windows 10 pro PC.
When I disable USB debugging, then the file transfer becomes possible again.
