Can't install eOS e-2.0 or 2.0 recovery on OnePlus 3 - SOLVED

I tried following the instructions for OnePlus 3, using the latest files at :
https://images.ecloud.global/dev/oneplus3/

Recovery would install OK but I couldn’t boot into it.

Using TWRP recovery both direct install from internal storage or ADB sideload failed.

In the end I was able to install 2-2.0 after installing and booting into eOS 1.21 recovery (filename is https://images.ecloud.global/dev/oneplus3/recovery-e-1.21-r-20240323388943-dev-oneplus3.img), then using “Apply update” from e-1.21 recovery.

Just had the same issue today.

And the same workaround worked: many many thanks!

But that means the recovery v2.0 does not work, and should be fixed
