Can't send MMS Messages - "failed to send, tap to try again"

Hi there,

So recently I’ve started having this issue where I can no longer send MMS messages (namely images). I am using Murena Mobile as my mobile carrier in the US.

When I attach an image to a text and go to hit send, I get text below the image “failed to send, tap to try again.” I can receive images via MMS messages just fine but I cannot send them. SMS messages come and go without issue.

I had something similar happen once before, and I found somewhere on these forms that if you change your APN settings to T-Mobile’s configuration for MMS that should fix it. At the time it did, but the issue has returned. I took screenshots of those previous APN settings as a backup and have attached them here.

To test, I went into Settings > System > Reset Options > Reset Mobile Network Options and reconnected using default settings. Same issue.

I contacted Murena support about this previously when I initially had issues who told me which APN settings to specify and now the default settings after network reset appear to match their recommended configuration.

Has anyone else run into this or something similar? Would love any and all feedback on this. Its more of a nuicense but its annoying and I’m searching for a resolution

I’m also attaching a screenshot of the issue here as well.

Thanks in advance!

Wait, I FOUND THE ISSUE!!!

I was fiddling with the settings in the default messaging app and changed:

Messages > Settings > Auto compress MMS Attachments > this was previously set to “No compression” I changed this to "Automatic’ and now works like a charm! I had hoped changing it would allow my photos to be sent in higher fidelity but completely forgot I changed it.

MMS images are now working as expected!
