Cast screen to a PC or RDP or otherwise get an /e/ device for demo at meetings

I want to spread the word about /e/ at a class or meeting I would like to get a screen on linux or windows PC to show in a window I can show on a big screen or share on video meeting. Looks like the emulator won’t work and I can’t see any easy solutions. There’s a couple that use adb USB or IP mode that look to take a lot of setup and also didn’t have a client that would work on recent Ubuntu. The threads are also a bit stale.

Is there anything easy I missed that can do this without rooting, or even adb? Seems like there should be an RDP server that just works?

thanks!

This might be it. Thanks @aibd and @piero . when i first looked it seemed tricky to set up and it says it isn’t compatible with recent Ubuntu. I will try a a SNAP later and see.

Thanks again!

well that was much easier than expected. the apt-get worked fine for Ubuntu 21 (Hirsute Hippo) and no server required on the device. It just worked.

Thanks again!

Thanks all for this. Helpful for me as well! Pretty cool that ADB over TCP (wireless) works as well!
