Chromium Choppy Background Play

I use Spotify through a browser on my phone and have to use either basic Chromium or Firefox for it to work because of DRM. Firefox works just fine, but when I minimize the Chromium browser, the sound begins to get choppy and scratchy. It also gets choppy and scratchy with other streaming sites like Odysee and others when I minimize the browser. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

And I’ll add that Chromium browser background play worked well before, and I reinstalled /e/ onto my phone and after it started the choppiness. I don’t know if that is coincidence or if it has anything to do with it.
