Cloud 2FA - app password - Mail password

The Mail app keeps complaining about the password being wrong.

I suspect the problem is that in Settings / Accounts I need to use the app password because I use 2FA. However, in the Mail app I have to give the real password.

Somehow, the /e/OS account manager seems to overwrite the real password with the app password. If I modify the app password in settings to the real password, the Mail works fine, but calendar and contacts do not synch.

Any ideas how to work around this problem without disabling 2FA?

I have this problem on v3.2 that I installed yesterday.

Not sure about the workaround, have yet to try, thanks for the pointer though!

Sorry it is out of topic to your question, I hope you will find an answer to yours.

But how did you even manage to enable 2FA? It has been loading forever on murena.io on my side and I have never been able to configure it.

Happy to close the topic, the december 2025 /e/OS update to 3.3 has fixed this problem for me.
