Hi @Loz, welcome to this forum.
As the Pixel 8a is already supported by LineageOS 21.0, it will probably be supported as soon as the /e/OS-U version will be released in september or october. (Prevision regarding the 5 past years experience)

The Pixel 8a would make a lot more sense now than the Pixel 7, especially because it has official OEM support till May 2031 (!) and the 256GB version can still be bought as new directly from Amazon.
